Hviezdny dátum neuvedený: Kira Nerys získava informácie, kde nájsť Ravinok, cardassijský transport s bajorskými väzňami, ktorý zmizol pred šiestimi rokmi. Neochotne súhlasí, keď cardassijský legát Dukat žiada, aby sa k nej pridal. Dostanú sa do systému Dozaria, kde skutočne nájdu vrak Ravinoku a dôkaz, že niektorí z pasažierov môžu byť stále nažive. Dukat prezradí Kire, že prišiel hľadať svoju polovičnú bajorskú dcéru Toru Ziyal, len aby ju zabil, pretože jej existencia by zneuctila vysokopostaveného cardassijského vládneho úradníka. Ziyal a niekoľko ďalších väzňov skutočne nájdu v pracovnom tábore, ktorý prevádzkujú Breenovci. Po deaktivácii Breena Dukat namieri zbraň na Ziyal a Kira zamieri na Dukata - ale ohromený svojimi pocitmi nevystrelí. Stardate not given: Kira Nerys retrieves information where to find the Ravinok, a Cardassian transport carrying Bajoran prisoners that vanished six years ago. She reluctantly agrees when Cardassian Legate Dukat demands to join her. They take a runabout to the Dozaria system where they actually find the wreck of the Ravinok and evidence that some of the passengers could still be alive. Dukat reveals to Kira that he has come to seek his half-Bajoran daughter Tora Ziyal, only to kill her because her existence would disgrace the high-ranking Cardassian government official. They actually find Ziyal and a few more prisoners in a labor camp run by the Breen. After disabling the Breen, Dukat points his weapon at Ziyal and Kira takes aim at Dukat - but overwhelmed by his feelings he doesn't shoot. He decides to take his daughter with him even though it would likely cost him his position.
