Class X is the result of the failed transformation of a class T planet into a star. Instead, the gas giant will not become a red dwarf, but a class X planet free of its hydrogen and helium atmospheres. The result is a small barren world, similar to Class B planets, but without an atmosphere and with a very dense metal core.
