Stardate 51149.5: On Starbase 375 Admiral Ross puts Dax in command of the Defiant and sends her on a mission to destroy a Dominion sensor array in the Argolis Cluster. Meanwhile on Terok Nor, Odo meets the female Founder, much to Kira's displeasure. When Quark has learned that Damar is modifying the station's deflector array to disable the Starfleet minefield that protects the Alpha Quadrant, Kira, Jake, and Rom devise a plan to sabotage the deflector. But they fail and Rom is arrested because Odo is not on his post when he is supposed to give the Ferengi a sensor window for his tampering. Kira is infuriated when Odo tells her that he has rejoined his people.
