In 2379, the Scorpion-class ships were small assault fliers carried aboard the Reman warbird Scimitar. Attack fliers were manueverable and heavily equipped fighter starships designed to carry out attacks on larger starships.

The Scorpion was a small, compact 24th-century fighter spacecraft created by the Remans, the labor caste of the Romulan Star Empire. The Scorpion was only about seven meters in length and could accommodate a pilot with a co-pilot seated behind. These fighter craft were stationed in the two-tier level shuttlebay on the Scimitar, the massive Reman vessel commanded by Shinzon in 2379.
