V zrkadlovom vesmíre je cisár Georgiou odhodlaný zmenit históriu. Po tom, co si ušetrila život, pokracuje vo svojom úsilí prinútit Michaela Burnhama, aby jej slúbil vernost. Burnham sa nakoniec vzdá. Zatial co Lorca zostáva nevystopovatelná, súhlasí so zabitím všetkých ostatných spolusprisahancov. Georgiou medzitým Saru prezradil, že jeho nadchádzajúci vahar'ai neznamená koniec jeho života. Kedže ISS Discovery zachytila ??plavidlo so spolusprisahancom, ktorý je stále v kontakte s Lorcou, Burnham využije šancu opät sa obrátit proti Georgiouovi. Ale dôstojníci, ktorí sú stále lojálni k cisárovi, plus Saru a ostatní Kelpiens, vzburu rýchlo potlacia. Georgiou je prinútený zabit Burnhama – a opät sa prebúdza v 32. storocí. Celý scenár bol testom, ktorý zorganizoval Carl, ktorý sa ukáže ako strážca navždy. Po zneužití v casových vojnách sa Guardian chcel uistit o dobrých úmysloch Georgiou. Po absolvovaní testu je Georgiou poslaná do casu, ked bol Prime a Mirror Universe ešte zarovnaný. Oficiálne je uvedená ako mrtva. Na Discovery Booker nainštaluje zariadenie Emerald Chain, ktoré umožnuje nadviazat spojenie s Kelpienovou nádobou vo vnútri hmloviny Verubin, k nevôli admirála Vancea.

In the Mirror Universe, Emperor Georgiou is determined to alter history. After sparing her life, she continues her efforts to get Michael Burnham to pledge allegiance to her. Burnham finally gives in. Whereas Lorca remains untraceable, she agrees to kill all other co-conspirators. In the meantime, Georgiou has revealed to Saru that his upcoming vahar'ai doesn't mean the end of his life. As the ISS Discovery has intercepted a vessel with a co-conspirator who is still in contact with Lorca, Burnham uses the chance to turn against Georgiou again. But officers who are still loyal to the Emperor, plus Saru and fellow Kelpiens, quickly put down the rebellion. Georgiou is forced to kill Burnham - and wakes up in the 32nd century again. The whole scenario was a test, arranged by Carl, who reveals to be the Guardian of Forever. After being misused in the Temporal Wars, the Guardian wanted to assure itself of Georgiou's good intentions. After passing the test, Georgiou is sent to a time when the Prime and the Mirror Universe were still aligned. She is officially listed as deceased. On the Discovery, Booker installs an Emerald Chain device that allows to establish a link with the Kelpien vessel inside the Verubin nebula, to Admiral Vance's displeasure.
