Hviezdny dátum 44215.2: Nákladná loď Federácie Arcos exploduje na obežnej dráhe Turkana IV, neúspešnej kolónie, ktorá je teraz zdevastovaná a rozdelená a ktorej obyvateľstvo žije v podzemí. Turkana IV bola Tašina domovská planéta. Dvaja členovia posádky prežijú v únikovom module, ale Aliancia ich zajme ako rukojemníkov, zatiaľ čo ich nepriatelia, koalícia, ponúkajú pomoc Enterprise, aby ich našla. Pošlú Isharu Yar, Tashinu sestru, na Enterprise. Ishara zanecháva veľmi dobrý dojem, ale jej skutočným cieľom je deaktivovať jej osobný detektor blízkosti, s ktorým sa obe frakcie Turkana pred rokmi dohodli, aby sa nemohli navzájom zničiť. Stardate 44215.2: The Federation freighter Arcos explodes in orbit of Turkana IV, a failed colony that is now devastated and divided and whose population lives in the underground. Turkana IV was Tasha's home planet. The two crew members survive in an escape pod but are taken hostages by the Alliance, while their enemies, the Coalition, offer their help to the Enterprise to find them. They send Ishara Yar, Tasha's sister, to the Enterprise. Ishara leaves a very good impression, but her actual goal is to have her personal proximity detector disabled that both Turkana factions agreed to years ago in order not to be able to destroy each other. Dr. Crusher removes the detector, thereby inadvertently enabling her to overload the Alliance's power plant on the following away mission. After freeing the hostages Ishara manipulates the reactor as planned, but Data stops her. Disappointed about the betrayal, the Enterprise crew leaves Ishara behind on Turkana IV.
