Hviezdny dátum 43685.2: Nový klingonský výmenný dôstojník na Enterprise ukáže Worfovho mladšieho brata Kurna. Povie Worfovi, že ich rodina bude zneuctená, pretože ich otec Mogh je údajne zradca, ktorý umožnil Romulanov útok na Khitomer, pri ktorom zomreli ich rodičia. Enterprise prichádza do klingonského domovského sveta, kde Worf spochybňuje obvinenia pred Najvyššou radou. Potom, čo bol Kurn napadnutý nožom, Worf požiada Picarda, aby konal ako jeho obhajca, jeho cha'DIch. Výskum posádky Enterprise odhaľuje, že dôkazy proti Moghovi boli sfalšované a že masaker prežil aj ďalší, Worfova opatrovateľka Kahlest. Skutočným zradcom je Ja'rod, otec Durasa, Worfovho žalobcu. Klingonský vodca K'mpec však nie je ochotný odhaliť pravdu, pretože by to mohlo spustiť klingonskú občiansku vojnu. Stardate 43685.2: The new Klingon exchange officer on the Enterprise turns out Worf's younger brother, Kurn. He tells Worf that their family is about to be dishonored because their father, Mogh, is said to be the traitor who enabled the Romulan attack on Khitomer in which their parents died. The Enterprise arrives at the Klingon homeworld where Worf challenges the allegations before the High Council. After Kurn has been attacked with a knife, Worf asks Picard to act as his advocate, his cha'DIch. The research of the Enterprise crew reveals that the evidence against Mogh was falsified and that there is another survivor of the massacre, Worf's nanny Kahlest. The true traitor is Ja'rod, the father of Duras, Worf's accuser. The Klingon leader, K'mpec, however, is not willing to reveal the truth since it could trigger a Klingon civil war. Worf, who is facing death penalty, strives to save his brother's life and hopes that one day the truth will prevail. He drops the challenge that would mean their death under the given circumstances and accepts his discommendation instead - although this is worse than death to a Klingon.
