Hviezdny dátum 47829.1: Ferengi Bok stále obviňuje Picarda zo smrti svojho syna v bitke pri Maxii. Pošle sondu, ktorá oznámi, že sa chystá zabiť Jasona Viga, Picardovho možného syna z pomeru so ženou menom Miranda Vigo pred 24 rokmi. Posádka nájde Jasona Viga na planéte Camor V, kde bol mladý muž na podzemnej horolezeckej túre. Test DNA overí, že Jason Vigo, ktorý mal po matkinej smrti nepokojný život, je Picardov syn. Bok použije subpriestorový transportér, aby uniesol Jasona. Medzitým vyjde najavo genetická chyba, ktorú Jason nemôže zdediť ani po matke, ani po Picardovi. V skutočnosti bola jeho DNA presekvenovaná tak, aby sa zhodovala s Picardovou. Kapitán tiež používa riskantný subpriestorový transportér a opäť prezradí Bokove nerentabilné zámery svojej posádke, ktorá ho zbaví velenia.

Stardate 47829.1: The Ferengi Bok still blames Picard for his son's death in the Battle of Maxia. He sends a probe that announces that he is going to kill Jason Vigo, Picard's possible son from an affair with a woman named Miranda Vigo 24 years ago. The crew finds Jason Vigo on the planet Camor V, where the young man was on an underground rock climbing tour. A DNA test verifies that Jason Vigo, who has had a troubled life after his mother's death, is Picard's son. Bok uses a subspace transporter to kidnap Jason. In the meantime a genetic defect is brought to light that Jason can't have inherited from either his mother or Picard. Actually, his DNA has been resequenced to match Picard's. The captain uses the risky subspace transporter too, and once again he reveals Bok's unprofitable intentions to his crew who relieve him of command.
