Hviezdny dátum 46852.2: Worf sa snaží vidieť starého klingonského vodcu Kahlessa vo vízii a zanedbáva svoje povinnosti. Picard mu poskytne dovolenku na brehu v kláštore na Borethe, kde Klingoni čakajú na návrat Kahlessa. Worf je sklamaný, že nemá žiadne vízie ako ostatní Klingoni, keď sa zrazu Kahless skutočne objaví. Worf je skeptický, ale porovnanie DNA doktora Crushera s krvou na Kiromovom noži odhaľuje, že je to skutočne Kahless. Kancelár Gowron nemá vôbec šťastie a spochybňuje Kahlessovo právo zaujať jeho miesto klingonského vodcu. Jeho podozrenie sa ukáže ako správne, keď Kahless vykazuje len veľmi slabé spomienky na svoj bývalý život. Duchovný Koroth musí konečne priznať, že Kahlessa naklonovali a dali mu spomienky, ktoré by mal podľa starých mýtov vlastniť. Napriek tomu, vediac, že je potrebné obnoviť klingonskú spoločnosť, sa nájde riešenie, ako urobiť Kahlesa klingonským cisárom, zatiaľ čo Gowron zostáva hlavou vlády.

Stardate 46852.2: Worf strives to see the ancient Klingon leader Kahless in a vision and neglects his duties. Picard grants him a shore leave in a monastery on Boreth, where the Klingons await the return of Kahless. Worf is disappointed that he doesn't have any visions like the other Klingons, when suddenly Kahless actually appears. Worf is skeptical, but Dr. Crusher's DNA comparison with blood on the Knife of Kirom reveals that this is indeed Kahless. Chancellor Gowron is not lucky at all, and he questions Kahless's right to take his place as the Klingon leader. His suspicion proves right when Kahless exhibits only very faint memories of his former life. The cleric Koroth finally has to admit that they cloned Kahless and gave him the memories that he should possess according to the ancient myths. Nonetheless, knowing that a renewal of Klingon society is due, a solution is found to make Kahless the Klingon Emperor, while Gowron remains the head of the government.
