Class J planets are vast regions of liquid and gaseous hydrogen with a small core of metallic hydrogen. Their atmospheres are very turbulent, the wind speed in the heaviest storms reaches up to 600 kilometers per hour. Many J-class planets also have their own impressive ring, composed mostly of rock, dust and ice. They form in the cold zone of star systems, although usually much closer than class I planets.
